Spotlight on Taylor!
Tell me how you first got involved in with BASICS ABA Therapy…
I actually met Saundra in a Capoiera class months before I was interested in working with her. When I started looking for another job I went to her first because I knew she worked with children but I wasn’t sure in what capacity. Once we talked I knew it was something I would definitely be interested in doing.
What has surprised you most about working with BASICS?
My relationship with the clients is something that really surprised me since I’ve started working with BASICS. I’m always excited to see my clients and I’m very invested in their progress, but what was the most surprising was how they are equally as excited to see me and do their best. I feel like we are working together and not just two people who are just there because we have to be.
What do you do when you aren’t working?
When I’m not working, I practice Capoeira, an Afro-Brazilian martial art. It’s a combination of dance, martial arts, language, art, and culture and takes up most of my free time. When I’m not doing capoeira I also like to play guitar and draw.
If you could have any one superpower, which would you choose?
The most challenging thing for me working at BASICS is the commute. Some of my clients live far and all though the drive isn’t the worst, being able to teleport would make this the perfect job!
