Saundra Bishop, MS, BCBA, LBA, CCTP, is the founder, CEO, and Clinical Director of the DC based BASICS ABA Therapy. She has over 18 years of experience working in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and with people with Autism/Autistic people and has been a BCBA for over 11 years and is licensed in Virginia and Maryland. She is especially passionate about Trauma-Informed Behavior Management and on using teaching models that focus on self advocacy rather than compliance. She is a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional and is Level 1 PRT certified. She is also certified to give trainings that qualify for Type-2 CEUs, DC Public Schools CEUs, and Child and Family Services foster parent hours and offers webinars frequently. Her company also runs a therapeutic summer camp, an inclusive summer camp, an inclusive aftercare program, and a FIRE Pods program (Facilitated In-home Remote Education). She enjoyed being a foster parent for 7 years and now has 4 wonderful daughters with and without special needs. She enjoys biking and competitive storytelling.

Saundra conducts a variety of trainings for BCBAs, clinicians, teachers, and parents. She can do standard training sor customized trainings based on your needs! Her most popular trainings are
ABCs of Behavior: This introductory training is perfect for schools and related service providers. Learn the foundations of behavior management and how to learn what motivates students in order to teach replacement behaviors that will get their needs met.
Trauma-Informed Behaviorism: Learn the significant benefits of promoting a trauma-informed treatment while exploring how this applies directly the science of behavior analysis. Learn how trauma events can function as setting events and how to use this knowledge to create comprehensive interventions that support students with known and unknown trauma histories.
Stressed Out and Tantrumming: Parents and kids alike are stressed out because of COVID-19 and have been for 18 months. With school going back into session, it's expected that kids will start to act out again. In the workshop, designed for parents if kids with and without special needs

Saundra is available to present at conferences throughout the country and beyond. She frequency presents at ABA conferences and has been an invited spreaker at several events. She was recently the Keynote Speaker at the Oregan ABA Conference

She is availble to conduct FBA (comprehensive behavior assessments and intakes), write behavior plans, and do parent trainings to implement any plans.
